5 bedroom houses are often thought to be in the estate residence size, however, this firm has created some 5BR houses in the 2,500 HSF+/- (Heated Square Feet) area. And there are some approaches that are in-between. When you have been doing this for decades, you know how to accomplish such arrangements without unnecessary hallways and the like, unless the Client really wants those features.
A 5BR house will allow for 4 children and the parent to each have their own bedroom during the growing part of their lives, and afterward, a separate room for each married child-couple during visits to the family residence. Also, some of bedrooms can be used to other purposes, such as a den, study, craft or hobby room, office, mini-gymnasium or exercise room, or be a “flex” space with large doors, that permit the space to become part of an Open Plan area outside of it.
The number of bathrooms is always a question: spend more money so that each bedroom has its own bathroom? Or have the 4 children’s bedrooms each share a common bathroom? Such questions are often answered by your budget and desired lifestyle.
