This one was designed over a 4 month period by her husband-Architect and graphics expert, then has been in the “coding” phase by computer website engineers for the last 4 months. So that’s an 8 month design-coding operation that totally revamped Merry’s website from top to bottom.
The Cashiers Chamber of Commerce provided the well-informed input of Executive Director Stephanie Edwards, to help rank multiple optional logos for Merry’s business, eventually agreeing with Merry with the “trees” logo for Merry Soellner Mountain Properties, which Merry favored from the beginning. “The ‘trees’ logo reflects my value of our mountain environment and our stewardship of the land that is so beautiful around here,” said Merry. The multiple shades of green provided the starting point for the colors that where ultimately selected for the real estate website.
The background of
CashiersHomesForSale.com is an elegant ivory, reflecting the warmth that Merry imbues every client relationship with, personally. There is a space at the upper right, with large quotes from a few of her clients, informing others of their positive experiences with Merry in representing their interests in many real estate transactions. Merry’s phone number is under that, and her email address and a list of the towns & villages she serves beneath that. Then her menu, which is a rich shade of brown, like leather or some sort of burl wood, representing the tasteful items her clients select when furnishing the houses they buy through her business.
Under this is a large photo, called the Big Picture, which cycles every few seconds. These are Merry’s premier listings: every new client of hers will have their house photographed by Merry and then those images will be featured here, on her HomePage, for all the world to see, along with their location and asking price. Since most real estate purchases these days begin with an Internet search, having her client’s listings featured here is an important part of marketing your real estate. You can simply click on any of these images to be taken to that house/land/ building’s page on the website.
To the right of this is a recent photo of Merry, which acts as a “Play Video” button. When you click on that, a YouTube video of Merry appears, telling you about her background in this area and how she helps you buy or sell real estate through her in this area.
To the right of this is a Quick Search, where website Users can easily and quickly perform a search for whatever they want. Under this is a brief paragraph written by Merry, quickly describing herself and what she does for you and why you would want to entrust her in your selling or buying mission.
Under this is a horizontal scrolling line of smaller photos, connected to the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) in this area, with not only images, but the location, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and the price of each. You can click on any of these to immediately be taken to a detailed listing page of the house, land or building that caught your eye.
Under this is the ONLY Advanced Search you are going to see on an Real Estate website in the area on a HomePage, possibly in the Nation. It took quite a lot of working between Merry’s website consultants and a national MLS service to make this happen and it wasn’t easy. This allows you to pinpoint exactly what you want, where you want it and for how much. Right now. Merry’s philosophy in providing this on her HomePage: “I want my clients and visitors to find what they’re looking for immediately, without having to wade through any other information, no matter how well-intentioned. I understand that my clients and visitors are on my website to find land, a home, and/or a building. I want to help them find that as easily and quickly as possible. No having to go through submenus. I want it right there, and so do they,” said Merry.
